Move-In / Move-Out
It’s one of the reasons why we’re known as ‘The World’s Friendliest Hamfest”. Move-In volunteers greet arriving Dealer Show and Flea Market vendors to help them unload their vehicles and move their stuff to their Vendor Booth or Flea Market table using carts provided by the VBC. On Sunday the process is reversed, and, depending on your work schedule, you’ll be available to assist dealers with packing up unsold items.
Inside Parking Monitor
During Move-In, vehicle parking in the load-in area is at a premium. Our goal is to unload each vendor as quickly as possible and move their vehicle to make room for the next person. You will affix a sticky note to each vehicle with contact info of the driver (table & phone numbers) so we can contact or find the driver to move their vehicle.
Check-in Aide
You will sit alongside the Dealer Chairman or the Flea Market Chairman to provide dealer packets with badges, meal tickets, and other documentation to each vendor as they check-in. For those vendors needing to pay at move-in, you’ll steer them to the cashier beside you.
Outside Parking
In this position you’re the first point of contact with every vendor attending Hamfest. You’ll communicate with Inside Parking via 2m Simplex to efficiently stage arrivals through the entry door. After the entry door closes on Saturday morning, this position transitions to a surveyor to provide real time info to Talk-In on any issues or closures of surface parking lots and garages.
Hamfest Information Table
During the Hamfest a few volunteers will assist attendees with questions such as when a particular forum is scheduled or the location of a specific vendor.
